Hawaii's veteran community of approximately 90,000 reflects the state's exceptionally heavy military presence. Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam combines the Pacific Fleet's primary submarine and surface ship homeport with Pacific Air Forces operations, while Schofield Barracks anchors the Army's 25th Infantry Division and Marine Corps Base Hawaii on the windward side of Oahu hosts Marine forces in the Pacific. Honolulu is the state capital.
Free vehicle pickup is available on Oahu, Maui, the Big Island, and Kauai — from Honolulu and Pearl City across to Kailua and the windward side, on Maui from Kahului to Lahaina, on the Big Island from Hilo to Kona, and across Kauai. VeteransDonations.org accepts any titled vehicle: cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, RVs, jet skis, personal watercraft.
Hawaii vehicle title transfers run through county-level motor vehicle offices — Honolulu, Maui, Hawaii, and Kauai counties each operate their own. After pickup, you'll follow your county's standard transfer-of-ownership process to release liability, and we'll point you to the right office at scheduling. Hawaii donations require inter-island and mainland shipping coordination, which changes the logistics but not the process. Common donations include pickups, motorcycles, boats, and classic cars from Oahu, Maui, the Big Island, and Kauai. Aircraft come in occasionally from general aviation operators. Older RVs and utility trailers are less common but workable. Every donation supports veterans through Salute Veterans Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, with pickup arranged for titled vehicles running or not — shipping timelines account for Pacific logistics.
