From Chicago and Rockford to Springfield and the southern counties, Salute Veterans Inc. accepts any titled vehicle from Illinois residents — running or not — with free statewide pickup.
Approximately 480,000 veterans live in Illinois, with active-duty roots concentrated at a few key installations. Scott Air Force Base in St. Clair County — home to U.S. Transportation Command and Air Mobility Command — is the state's largest active-duty base, while Naval Station Great Lakes north of Chicago serves as the Navy's only recruit training facility. Springfield, the state capital, sits in central Illinois.
Free vehicle pickup is available across Illinois — from Chicagoland and the suburbs south through Bloomington and Springfield, east to the Indiana border, and down to Carbondale and the southern tip of the state. VeteransDonations.org accepts any titled vehicle: cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, RVs, jet skis. Whether the vehicle is in a North Shore garage or sitting on a downstate farm, we handle the right transport at no cost.
Illinois vehicle title transfers go through the Illinois Secretary of State's office — the agency that handles titling and registration in Illinois rather than a separate DMV. After pickup, you'll follow the state's standard notice-of-transfer process to release liability, and we'll guide you to the appropriate filing at scheduling. The donation is tax-deductible to Salute Veterans Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. To start, call 1-888-324-2772 or use the donation form on this page.

Illinois donations reflect the state's split between Chicago's metropolitan freight and commercial character and the corn belt agriculture of the downstate counties. Semi-trucks, box trucks, dump trucks, and 18-wheel tractor-trailers come from freight corridors along I-80, I-55, and I-70. Tractors, combines, farm equipment, and utility trailers come from central Illinois farms. Classic cars, muscle cars, motorcycles, and pickups round out the range. Free pickup is coordinated statewide, from Chicago to Cairo. Every donation is tax-deductible to Salute Veterans Inc., a 501(c)(3).
We accept more than cars. Choose a vehicle type below to learn more and start your donation.
