From Portland and Bangor to Augusta and the coast, Salute Veterans Inc. accepts any titled vehicle from Maine residents — running or not — with free statewide pickup.
Maine ranks among the highest in veteran density nationally, with roughly 95,000 veterans across the state. Portsmouth Naval Shipyard — straddling the Piscataqua River between Kittery, Maine and Portsmouth, New Hampshire — is the Navy's oldest continuously operating shipyard and specializes in submarine overhaul. Bath Iron Works in Bath builds destroyers for the Navy. Augusta is the state capital.
Free vehicle pickup is available throughout Maine — from Portland and the southern coast north through Augusta and Bangor, east into Down East and Washington County, and west to the lakes region. VeteransDonations.org accepts any titled vehicle: cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, RVs, jet skis, snowmobiles. Whether the vehicle is parked in a Kennebunk driveway or sitting at a remote camp in the North Woods, we arrange the right transport at no cost.
Maine vehicle title transfers go through the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles. After pickup, you'll follow the state's standard transfer-of-ownership process to release liability — the BMV provides the appropriate form and we'll point you to it at scheduling. Maine's coast and rural inland country shape the donation mix. Lobster boats, small fishing craft, and pleasure boats from the Down East communities come in alongside classic cars, motorcycles, older RVs, pickups, and 4x4s built for the state's realities. Potato-country tractors, farm equipment, and utility trailers arrive from Aroostook County and central Maine. Salute Veterans Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, coordinates free pickup from Portland to Presque Isle on titled vehicles, running or not.
