From Capitol Hill to Anacostia and all neighborhoods in between, Salute Veterans Inc. accepts any titled vehicle from DC residents — running or not — with free pickup throughout the District.
The District of Columbia is home to approximately 20,000 veterans. Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling along the Potomac and Anacostia rivers serves Navy and Air Force operations in the National Capital Region, while Fort Lesley J. McNair in Southwest hosts the National Defense University and several historic military residences. The Marine Barracks at 8th & I in Capitol Hill is the oldest active Marine post in the country.
Free vehicle pickup is available throughout the District — from Capitol Hill and downtown through Georgetown and the Northwest neighborhoods, east to Capitol Heights and Anacostia, and across all of DC's wards. VeteransDonations.org accepts any titled vehicle: cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs. Whether the vehicle is parked on a residential street in Petworth or in a Foggy Bottom garage, we coordinate transport at no cost.
DC vehicle title transfers go through the District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles. After pickup, you'll follow the District's standard transfer-of-ownership process to release liability — DC DMV provides the appropriate form and we'll point you to it at scheduling. The District's donation mix skews urban — pickups, motorcycles, and classic cars from federal-area collectors, and the occasional boat from Potomac and Anacostia moorings. Small commercial vehicles from local operations — box trucks, utility trailers — round out the range. RVs and heavier commercial vehicles are less common in the District proper but workable when they come through. Free pickup coordination works within DC's parking and street-access realities. Every donation is tax-deductible to Salute Veterans Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit; titled vehicles accepted running or not.
